The Handyperson Service

Need a hand?

Glasgow City Council’s handyperson service provides practical help with tasks around the home that you may find difficult to do yourself. The service is available to all Glasgow residents aged 60 and over.

The service provides help with small repairs, for example:

  • fixing a leaky tap;
  • putting up shelves;
  • changing a light bulb or fuse; and
  • repairing or replacing locks.

It also provides help with some household tasks, for example:

  • housework;
  • cleaning windows;
  • putting up curtains;
  • laundry; and
  • spring cleaning.

What does it cost?
The handyperson service is free. You only have to pay for any materials needed to carry out the task.

You don’t need an assessment to receive help from the handyperson service as it is not designed to provide ongoing help and support.  You can contact the handyperson service on 0141 433 2749.
